The Wizard of Oz (8th December 2015)

On Tuesday 8th December children from Wren, Woodpecker, Kestrel and Kingfisher classes delighted an audience of parents, carers, grandparents and friends - as well as a governor or two, with this heart warming story.

The Wizard of Oz was chosen by our staff as they loved the idea of children going on a journey to gather core attributes such as courage, brains and a heart. It was wonderful to see Mina, one of our new recruits taking up the starring role of Dorothy alongside some of regular performers demonstrating their confidence and ability to entertain others,

The scenery was beautiful and children's costumes were inventive - our thanks to parents and carers who sent these in in good time - the Tin Man's costume was a favourite of mine!

I would like to say a great big thank you to all of the staff involved; they had clearly worked hard and I think we all enjoyed the sight of Mrs Lee a.k.a The Wicked Witch 'melting' into a puddle and rolling off the stage! True to form I watched the performance from the back of the hall with a tear in my eye, a tissue in my hand and a feeling of immense pride for every child involved. Looking around the room there were many misty-eyed Mums, Dads, Carers, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, who all felt the same as me!

We raised an amazing £158 towards our whole school trip at the Christmas Fayre after The Wizard of Oz - Thank you!
