On Wednesday 13th June, all KS1 and Lower KS2 classes enjoyed a day at 'Cotswold Wildlife Park', courtesy of The Oxford Rotary Club. On the morning of Tuesday 5th June, our pupils got stuck into some gardening, mainly clearing weeds, but also doing some re potting as well as planting. We even discovered a bed of strawberries which had lain dormant and are hoping to reap a good crop next year. We were ably assisted by four parent volunteers, to whom we are very grateful. If you have not yet had the joy of getting involved in Northern House Oxford events and activities, we invite you to consider doing so as we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers, whether you are a parent or someone from the community looking to have a positive impact on the lives of our wonderful pupils.

The children in Wren Class have had some special visitors for the past 10 days – 8 live chicks! They arrived as eggs in an incubator and the children watched them slowly peck away at their shells to enter the world to applause and smiles. Not only are the chicks super fluffy, but they are also super cute. The pupils have gone on to learn about the life cycle of chickens and are currently contemplating the age old question of what came first: the chicken or the egg?

Red Kite class, along with Miss Morgan, Miss Moonie, Mrs Rolfe and Miss Mason went on a residential trip to PGL Liddington just before Easter... and had an absolute blast! We got to take part in loads of awesome activities including quad biking, canoeing and zip lining - to name but a few! We developed our social skills and independence, worked together as a team to complete challenges, and encouraged each other to get outside of our comfort zones! It was a trip to remember!
